The saddest thing

She had the most beautiful smile,
A laugh that bent you double,
The boy was just merely something she claimed she loved.
She never really did.
Side by side,
as the bitter wind swept pass.
His face burried in his palms.
She never bothered to ask why,
All these years,
a love so pure and innocent,
mistakes,
pain
and tears..
But there to was laughter and joy.
In the pages of his mind,
' i need you more than ever'.
Still it remained deep in his thoughts because it was anger that cant be expressed.
Words he could never find.

Suddenly,
He saw a man with a gun.
Pale as ever.
Took a shot at the girl.
With every ounce of strength,
He hugged her.
He was shot.
But he saved her.
Starring into her beautiful eyes he said,
'The saddest thing is that i know,
you wouldnt have done the same for me'.
