When you go to war

When you go to war,
wouldnt it be nice if there was someone at home waiting for you?
Someone you could come home to,
and wipe away the blood and the dust of your uniform,
someone who takes away the cries and screams.
Wouldnt it be nice,
while you brave yourself on the battlefield,
fighting enemy troops,
dodging bullets and bombs,
running and saving the lives of your fellow soldiers,
wouldnt it be nice if there was someone in your heart you know you could come home to?
At least at your last breath,
you can know that youre not dying for nothing.
