Someday

Together we cry

by Jessica Quah, 18, Uplands school.

When things don’t feel right,
when there’s something wrong somewhere but
you can’t quite put a name to it.
When it seems like the facade is crumbling
faster than you can build it back up,
when the truth starts shattering home.
When you thought you knew what to do,
when it all becomes heart-rendingly clear
that you don’t.
When you need,
when you wish,
when you know it’s not happening.

For the moment of dread-laced anticipation,
every aching heartbeat,
each second of numb impact.
For scar tissue
and bad dreams,
for silent questions that aren’t answered.
For everything
that you know but wish you didn’t
and for something
that we’re all trying to find but can’t.
For the things nobody knows, and
for the things everyone remembers.

In memory of what we used to be, and
in hope of what we will become.

the lights surrounding you

someday,
maybe just someday,
ill get to see those lights again,
and in that moment,
ill turn and look at the fragments of light dancing on your beautiful face.
and then ill kiss you.

love?

Im gonna talk about boygirl relationship for no apparent reason. why? cos i feel like it.
Anyway at school, i read some article in the news paper.
some wife broke down because her husband was sentence to death by the court for smuggling drugs.
The article also states there that she also waited for her husband and handed him a cloth to cover his face from the reporters.
Makes me wonder if there are still women or girls who would do that for the person they love. stand by them even when faced with humiliation and pain.I mean nowadays you just dont really see that anymore.
You dont see women standing up for the man they love or vice versa.
You dont see the love anymore.
What ever happened to standing beside each other when braving the tempests of the world?
there was even an old couple who put up on the streets because they had no home.
Together on the streets. How many of you would do that and stand by the person you love?
How many of you would STAND BY THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE?
despite imperfection?
Come on, dont ever ever tell someone else you will love them forever if you wouldnt even stand by them.
Bullshit. dont say forever, dont say always, dont even say you love them if youd leave them when things get harder.
Cos if you do, youre just a pathetic liar.
IF you even really call what you had for that person love, you wouldnt leave them no matter what.
Even when faced with death. You would never.
SO WHAT WOULD YOU DO FOR THE PERSON YOU LOVE?
leave?
stay?
hold on?
let them fight the weight of the world alone?
Cos if anyone of you ever stood by the people you love,
You are an angel.
Beautiful and strong.
