The cry for hope.
by Daniel Tan.
We are the ones who dread going to school.
we are the ones who get discriminated against by the teachers in school.
we are the ones who sleep in class,
and the ones teachers dont care about.
we are the ones who sit behind and feel left out during lessons.
we are the ones who never get the chance to go for price giving ceremonies.
we are the ones who never get good grades in exams.
we are the ones who never get the chance to lead.
we are the ones, teachers pass of as failures.
we are the ones who teachers say will be lost in the future.
we are the ones, who they say are always left behind.
we are the ones, who are not talented.
Think again,
because maybe we are the ones who go home and try,
we are the ones who hope for better days,
we are the ones who wish we were just like the other kids who can do well,
we are the ones who sometimes give up because YOU never gave us a chance.
Could you really blame us?
if we are the ones who dont make it?
because we are the ones who cry in our hearts hoping that school will be pleasant,
we too want to become better students,
we are the ones whom you never see, suffer at home because YOU pay more attention to the so called elite students.
we are the ones who sit through examinations with fear.
perhaps even sadness.
we are the ones who TRY.
If you give us a chance,
then maybe YOU can see,
we are the ones who are talented.
maybe not in a way you think it should be.
We are the ones who will be happy in the future.
because while all your elite students sit in their desks and enjoy their high paying jobs,
we are the ones who will brave ourselves against the tempests of the world.
we are the ones who will learn what its like to fall before we succeed.
we are the ones who will know how to care and love those who are once what we call, us.
we are the ones who will ride the waves of life like brave men just as soldiers do on the battlefield.
And when you might need us someday,
Remember,
We were the ones you left behind.
